Alex was killed in the well documented Marianna Mine disaster in which 129 miners died. Alex, John and Charles are buried side by side and share 3 sides of a common headstone. A post by Helen Seagriff states: My "Maternal Grandfather" (Alexander, "Alex", Behanna), his step-father-in-law (John Beadling), and his brother-in-law (Charles T. Austin) died in the Marianna Mine. Alexander's son (David Behanna) was killed later in the "Kinloch Mine". Alex, John, and Charles share the same headstone. Buried in an old cemetery in Rostraver Twp., Fells Cemetery".
