They eventually crashed west of Bleiburg, Austria with a loss of " 6 " members of the crew.
Edward was "Killed In Action" in this crash during the war.
He had served in the Air Corps for three years and two months at the time of his death and was decorated with an Air Medal and a Purple Heart.
