Milton served as a Private First Class in the 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland and was a member of the Maryland National Guard prior to the war.

His National Guard unit was called into full time active Army service on February 24, 1941, prior to the war, from Cumberland, Maryland. He was noted, at that time, as being employed as a Photographer and also as Single, without dependents.

He was married after his enlistment.

He was "Killed In Action" during the D-Day invasion of France. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
