Harold Keith Austin

Tremonton: Harold Keith Austin, 81, died July 23, 2002, at his home in Tremonton. He was born November 26, 1920 in Garland, Utah, a son of Clarence and Elsie Vera Brough Austin.

Keith was raised in Garland and attended Bear River High School. He married Thelma Halling on November 20, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was drafted in the U.S. Army and served in New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan during World Ward II. He was a skilled auto mechanic.

He was a member of the Tremonton LDS 1st Ward. Keith enjoyed reading and was an avid fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma, Tremonton; one son and three daughters; Sherman Keith Austin, Jean (Stan) Humpherys, both of Tremonton; Carolyn (Dennis) Francom, Elwood; Linda (Scott) Baxter, North Ogden and 11 grandchildren. Also one sister and one brother, Marjorie Brockman and George Leland Austin.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Susan Austin, two infant grandchildren, one sister, Betty Halling and two brothers, James Austin and Vernon Austin.

The family wishes to thank the caring HOSPICE workers.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 29, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton 1st Ward Chapel, 166 North Tremont Street. Friends may call Sunday, July 28th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, July 29th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton.

Interment will be in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
