Killed in Action December 9th, 1943 near the Moro River.

Charles Henry Lambton was twenty-seven years old and the son of Ernest and Henrietta Lambton. His wife was Dorothy Lambton of Vancouver, British Columbia.

On December 9th, 1943 the 1st Battalion SLI Support Group was supporting the attacks on the Moro River with their Vickers Medium Machine Guns and 4.2 inch mortars.

Charles Lambton was part of #3 Platoon Mortar Company that was dive bombed shortly after they had engaged the target in support of the RCR (Royal Canadian Regiment).

Privates Weaver and Edwards were also killed at this time and five other men were injured by shrapnel.

He is buried in the Moro River Canadian War Cemetery. Ref: XI, C, 11
