MORRISDALE — Abs P. Houston, 66, of Morrisdale R. D., died at 8:15 p. m. last night in the Philipsburg State General Hospital after a week's illness.
Born at Kylertown Nov. 6, 1899, he was a son of James and Louella (Pearce) Houston. He was a retired coal miner and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Military Order of Cooties of Philipsburg, and the Loyal Order of the Moose of Grassflat.
He was married to the former Irene Rothrock who survives him with a son, Edward, Winburne. Six grandchildren and three brothers also survive: George, Youngstown, Ohio; Milton, State College; and Claude, Burbank, Calif.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p. m. in the Johnson Funeral Home at Grassflat with the Rev. George Zinz in charge.
Interment will be in the Messiah Baptist Cemetery at Kylertown.
Friends may call at the funeral home from tomorrow noon until time of services Wednesday.
