Kenny was a proud Navy Veteran and Father of one child, his son Kenneth Shawn Ledford. He was born in Tennessee and raised in Aiken South Carolina by his parents Robert and Edna Lucille Ledford. He had an older sister, Betty Ledford Kelly. Kenny worked for an entire year as a bus driver to buy his sister a dress for her senior prom. He was proud and loved his flying squirrel he found and built a house for. Kenny loved seeing the world during several tours of duty in the Navy on aircraft carriers. He served on the USS Coral Sea when his son Kenneth Shawn was born in 1962. Kenny remained a "Southern Gentleman" throughout his life. After he left the Navy he was hired by Lockheed as a technician. He excelled at electronics, instrumentation, and mechanics and passed on those talents to his son. He loved fixing cars. Over the years he worked his way up the corporate ladder in Silicon Valley from technician to Engineer to Supervisor and Plant Manager at Seagate before he retired. He was a good friend and Father. He is survived by his son, one grandson, Cole (ref. photo), and two granddaughters, Kendal and Nickie. Kenny's ashes were buried at the Sacramento Valley Veteran's Cemetery with full military honors in March 2008. Kenny is missed and remembered every day by his son, lifelong Navy buddy, and friend, Jerry, and me.
