Visitation was today at the Thibodaux Funeral Home in Cut Off. The funeral was 10 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off.
Burial will be in the Cheramie Cemetery in (Galliano) Thibodaux.
Survivors include five sons, Marcel, Lindbergh, Burvick, Ozema and Alcide Cheramie Jr.: seven daughters, Bernice Cheramie, Mrs. Kirby (Alcida) Brunet, Mrs. Remes (Victoria) Johnfroe, Mrs. Estnal (Viana) Danos, Mrs. Early (Alcidee) Ledet, Mrs. Mervin (Bessie) Savoie, Mrs. Dickie (Deeanna) Savoie, all of Golden Meadow; five brothers; and three sisters not named; 54 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Odelie Gaudet Cheramie; his parents, Theodore and Edna Guidry Cheramie; one son, Penelton Cheramie; one daughter, Evadia Cheramie; and two brothers, not named.
Thibodaux Funeral Home of Cut Off is handling the arrangements.
