OBITUARY:

Arlene M. (Dorr) Atwater, 85 of Steuben went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at an Ellsworth Healthcare Facility. She was born on August 6, 1923 in Columbia Falls the daughter of the late Benjamin and Iva (Grant) Dorr. Mrs. Atwater was educated and graduated from the Columbia Falls High School. Arlene was a hard worker and held many jobs throughout her working career. She enjoyed cooking and reading. Mrs. Atwater was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and great great grandmother, always looking after everyone else�s needs before her own. She shared 54 years of marriage with the late Forrest B. Atwater, Sr. who died in 1997. Family members include her three sons, Forrest B. Atwater, Jr. and his wife, Sandra, Anthony Atwater and wife, Ann, Dale Atwater and wife, Brenda, and a caring and devoted daughter-in-law, Rebecca Atwater, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was also survived by sisters, Eleanor Chipman, Leona Bailey, Barbara Pinkham, Wilma Newcomb and Donna Snyder, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Leon S. Atwater in 2006, and a granddaughter, Charlene Bagley and husband, Chuck and great grandchildren, B.J. and Cady Bagley. Also predeceased by three brothers, Shirley Dorr, Embert Dorr and Robert Dorr, and three sisters, Gertrude Smith, Betty Chipman, and Laura Ramsay. Graveside services will be held in the Unionville Cemetery, Steuben on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 1P.M. with Pastor Lewis Cushman, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited. If desired, donations may be made to the In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Leon's memory may be made to the St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
