Source: Southern Aegis: "Mar. 31, 1921, Southern Aegis: M. W. Baggett, one of St. Clair County's oldest citizens, who died Saturday, was buried Sunday at Choat Cemetery. Mr. Baggett was 84 years old. He was a Confederate veteran, being a member of Company D, Twenty-fifth Alabama. He is survived by three children, J. E. Baggett and L. M. Baggett and Mrs. Dela Owen."
