Eady Caroline was the daughter of William J and Judah Collins Willis. She married James Hamilton Ballenger on 24 Apr 1859 and they had two sons, James William and David Jasper. Following the death of her husband in Tennessee during the Civil War, Eady lived with her stepmother, Amy Edith Collins Willis and her sister, Sarah F Collins Graham and all their children for the remainder of her life. Her half-brother, JF, was pastor of the Mt Lebanon Church on more than one occasion and the whole family were members of the congregation.
