Robert Hanes
Robert L. "Bob" Hanes of Eugene died July 5 of cancer. He was 62. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
He was born Jan. 2, 1948, in Seattle to Lester and Heloise Wilmsen Hanes. He married Kandice Moorehead on Dec. 20, 1978, in Reno, Nev.
He graduated from South Eugene High School in 1966 and attended the University of Oregon. He worked as a commercial baker for Williams Baker, worked in sporting goods sales for Eugene Athletics, owned and operated a vintage vinyl collectible record store in Portland, was a track and field pole vault and jumps coach at South Eugene High School and was an assistant athletic director.
Survivors include three sons, Cameron and Peter, both of Eugene, and Justin of Portland; a sister, Lynda Khosravi of Harlingen, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Arrangements by All Cremation Services in Eugene.

On July 24th at 2:00 p.m. friends and family of Bob Hanes will gather in the South Eugene High School gymnasium to celebrate Bob's life.
Robert "Bob" Hanes died on July 5th of cancer. He was 62. He was born January 2nd 1948 in Seattle to Lester and Heloise Wilmsen Hanes. He married Kandice Moorehead on December 20th, 1978 in Reno, NV.
Bob graduated from South Eugene High School in 1966 and attended the University of Oregon. He worked as a commercial baker for Williams Bakery, worked in sporting goods sales for Eugene Athletic, owned and operated Vintage Vinyl, a collectible record store in Portland, was a long time, passionate, track and field pole vault and jumps coach at South Eugene High School and was assistant athletic director. Bob was also the inaugural inductee into the South Eugene High School athletic Hall of Fame. A more dedicated Axemen would be hard to find. Bob flew the purple of South with pride.
To honor and carry on Bob's passion for what he loved: South Eugene track and field, a scholarship fund has been set up. Please send contributions to:
