Dr. I. L. Crawley, age 73 years, died at his home near Orchard Hill last Thursday from the infirmities of old age. He graduated in medicine in 1854 and had practiced continuously since at the same place with the exception of four years he spent in the army as a surgeon in the 53rd Georgia Volunteers. He was married to Miss Mary Perdue in 1866 and she and three children, Mrs. D. M. McKneely, a son in New Mexico and D. P. Crawley, of Louisiana, survive him. He was a popular and highly esteemed as a man and physician by his community and his death is greatly regretted. He was a brother of Mr. J. L. Crawley, of Milner, and an uncle of Mr. Lee Crawley, of Zebulon. He was buried at the Crawley family burial ground near Milner Friday. The funeral services were conducted at the grave by Rev. W.Z. Gardner and Rev. Smith, of the Milner Methodist church.
