SANTA ELENA, TX. — Anita V. Garza ,90,
was called by our Lord and entered into eternal rest on March 12, 2010.

She was born on February 19, 1920 at Los Mesquites Ranch, Texas, to Martin Villarreal and Marta Farias Villarreal.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Rodolfo S. Garza, whom she was married to for 59 years, her parents Martin Villarreal and Marta Farias Villarreal, her sister Pola Garza (Felix), and her brother Julio Villarreal.

She is survived by her brother Eutimio Villarreal of Delmita, Texas and her sister-in-law Alma Villarreal from Corpus Christi, Texas. Anita is also survived by her five children: Rodolfo T.Garza (Narcisa), Omar J. Garza (Ninfa), David A. Garza (Dorothy), Martha G. Williams (Dave), and Irma G. Williams (James), and grandchildren: Felix Garza (Monica), Rodolfo Garza III, Sarah A. Garza Guerra (Robert), Omar J. Garza, Anthony Garza, Thomas A. Garza, Carlos D. Garza, Tessa G. Williams, and Elise G. Williams.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Gauri Kanhere and the wonderful staff at Family Health Center in Rio Grande City, Texas and also Dr. Hector Soto from McAllen, Texas for their many years of care. Special thanks to mom's finest caregivers Carlos and Marta Galvan, and their two daughter's Karla and Yaneth.

Anita was a loving and caring mom, grandmother, and friend with a beautiful spirit and a fantastic sense of humor. During her life, she touched many people with her cheerful personality and kindness. Her optimism and her determination to be a good role model for us will continue to live in our hearts. Her endearing qualities will remain in each and every one of us. We will love her forever.

Her hands were kind,
her heart was pure
her soul was honest, and
her spirit will live on
in all of her children

Pallbearers will be Felix Garza, Rodolfo Garza III, Sarah A. Garza Guerra, Omar J. Garza, Anthony Garza, Thomas A. Garza, Carlos D. Garza, Tessa G. Williams, Elise G. Williams, Karla Galvan, Robert L. Guerra, Monica Garza, and Yaneth Galvan.
Viewing will take place Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the Hernandez Funeral Home Chapel in Rio Grande City from 1 pm to 9 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 pm.

Viewing will continue Monday, March 15, 2010 from 8 am until departure for a 10 am funeral mass to be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and officiated by Father Amador Garza in Rio Grande City.
Interment will follow at El Coyote Ranch Cemetery in Santa Elena, Texas.

Arrangements under the direction of Hernandez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City.
