Helen married Mervin Andersen on February 15, 1910 in Valley Springs, SD. They made their home in the rural Valley Springs area where she kept the family home while Mervin farmed. Helen was a very devoted and loving homemaker who took great pride in taking care of her family and their home.
Helen was a life long member of Beaver Valley Lutheran Church where she served in the WELCA and various circles. In her free time she enjoyed doing needlepoint, knitting and crafts. Helen also had a love for the outdoors and bird watching. She was loving wife and mother, a caring grandmother and a wonderful friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters and their husbands, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mervin; brothers, Merle, Bill and Earl; sisters, Viola, Evelyn and Gladys; and grandson, Tim.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for lunch and fellowship at Beaver Valley Lutheran Church following the memorial service.
