He was born September 4, 1904 in Sauk County to Fred and Ida (Braun) Brooks. He married Edna Roever on March 6, 1932 at Zion Lutheran church of Westfield Township. She died on May 22, 1967.
Mr. Brooks had served in the following positions: Reedsburg Farmer's Director, Zion Cemetery Board for 35 years, Zion Church Council, Adult Leader of Dellona 4-H club for 15 years and Clerk of Sunnyside School Board for 23 years.
Survivors include two sons, Donald, Reedsburg, Duane, Lyndon Station; four grandchildren; two sisters, Celia and Marion Brooks, both of Madison.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 9 at Zion Lutheran church with Rev. Dan Odden officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
