In 1872, she married Ralph Martin in Corinne, Utah. She was the mother of ten children. In the 1884 the family relocated to Adams, Massachusetts. Ralph went blind and was tragically killed in a train accident in 1895, when his 15 year old son was driving their horse and wagon to town with a load of potatoes.
Margaret was left as a widow with several young children to support. Some of her children relocated to New Mexico, and the rest stayed in western Massachusetts. Margaret died in December, 1906 at age 64.
