Brewster Counce Adams, 82, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Mission St. Joseph's Health System.

Mr. Adams was a native of Hardin County, Tenn. However, he resided in Buncombe County for over 50 years. He was the son of the late William Albert and Mildred Johnson Adams. He served in World War II as a sergeant in the 99th Bomb Group, 347th Bomber Squadron in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Adams served on the administrative board of Skyland United Methodist Church, where he was an active member.

Mr. Adams was preceded in death by a brother, John William Adams. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, the former Aubyn Inez Horton; two sons, Bruce Douglas Adams of Fletcher and Brett Horton Adams and his wife, Heather, of Franklin; daughter, Brynda A. Manzella and her husband, Randy, of Hoover, Ala.; brother, Charles Douglas Adams of Salem, S.C.; and two granddaughters, Ashlyn Manzella and Bailey Counce Adams.

The funeral services will be held at Skyland United Methodist Church. Pastor Arnie Corriher will officiate. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Enka.
