He retired from Chrysler Foundry in Indianapolis after 30 year of employment. He was a member of University Heights United Brethren Church in Indianapolis.
He served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Dayton during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Patty (Lewis) Esmon; a son, the Rev. Douglas Esmon of Napersville, Ill.; a daughter, Cynthia Cotcamp of Lake Worth, Fla.; two brothers, J. Thomas Esmon of Franklin, N.C., and William B. Esmon of Spring Hill, Fla.; a sister, Charlotte Walter of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Owens Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Esmon officiating. Private interment will take place at Acton Cemetery in Acton, Ind.
Friends may call one hour before the services Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Program of St. John's Medical Center through the funeral home.
