Hazel Corrine Brunsvold, 83, of Manly, currently living at the Willow Point Assisted Living in Mason City, died Saturday, January 7, 2006, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 428 West Walnut, Manly, with Reverend Randy Nielsen officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hwy. 122 West, Mason City. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the church.

The family of Hazel Corrine Brunsvold has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly or to the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City in her memory.

According to her wishes her body was cremated.

Hazel Corrine Brunsvold was born on July 29, 1922, in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Nels and Carrie (Baagson) Anderson. Hazel attended Lerdahl School near Hayward, MN. Before her marriage to Olger, Hazel worked as a telephone operator in Lerdahl. She was united in marriage to Olger Brunsvold on July 17, 1946, in Hayward, MN. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2004. After their marriage Hazel was a stay at home mom and loved and cared for her family.

She enjoyed dancing the Waltz and Polka at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, and the Terp Ballroom in Austin, MN, playing 31 and 500 cards, fishing up in northern MN, and Canada and baking cookies.

She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Martha Circle at the church in Manly.

Left to cherish her memory is her children; Gary Brunsvold and his wife Val of Manly, Judy Brunsvold of Mason City, and Wanda Marquardt of Denver, CO; three grandchildren; Mitzi Brunsvold of San Diego, CA, Blayne and Blair Brunsvold of Hanlontown, a sister-in-law, Faye Brunsvold of Herman, MO, as well as other relatives and friends.

Other than her husband Olger, Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Manford Anderson.
