SGT US ARMY - World War II; Served in the Paratroops. On one of his jumps, his parachute failed to open all the way and his back was broken in the fall. Most of his army career was spent in cast after cast after that.

Markley was one of eleven children of Otto Lynn and Martha Smith Frazier.

He married Barbara Crowley and they had one son, Mark (Frazier) Crocker. After he and Barbara were divorced, Mark was adopted by his step-father.

Doc worked for Civil Service as a rural mail carrier and as Assistant Post Master. He retired after 30 years.
