For Mrs. Glenney
Funeral services for Mrs. Earl Glenney, 72, of Union, will be held Tuesday, June 6, 1:30 p.m. from the Union Community Church. Mrs. Glenney died Saturday at the Union Nursing Home following a lingering illness.
Rev. Preston Hinderks will officiate at the services, with interment in the Miller Cemetery near Union. Casket bearers will be Max Heryford, Ed Dighton, Carl Bryant, Ed Collins, R.V. Hilsabeck and George Sorensen. Biersborn Funeral Home of Union is handling arrangements.
Josephine Marion Nellie Pierce Glenney was born June 30, 1899, to Mr. and Mrs. George Pierce at Union. She married Earl Glenney April 25, 1919, and the couple lived all their married life in or near Union.
Mrs. Glenney was a member of the Community Church and its missionary society. She is survived by four children; one son, Wendell of Marshalltown; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Arlene) Crosser of Eldora, Mrs. Virgil (Catherine) Mackey of Grundy Center and Mrs. Virginia Harrington of Marshalltown; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one brother, Roy Pierce of Winter Park, Fla.
