He was born on Dec 13, 1947 in Louisiana, but grew up in Westminster, Orange County, California. John was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother, son, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He graduated from Westminster High School (Westminster, Orange County, CA) in 1965, and almost immediately enlisted in the Army. He served in Viet Nam during his tour of duty, from 1965 to 1969.
