Naomi Capshaw Amis Of Celina, Texas. Born May 23, 1921. Passed away May 19, 2010. Survived by her husband of 63 years, Buddy Paul Amis; son Steve Amis(Debby); son Jim Amis(Susan); grandson, Brian Amis (Jordan); grandsons Ben, Matthew and Sam Amis; granddaughter, Patty Amis; and great-grandson, Charlie Amis. Naomi grew up in the Oklahoma dust bowl. After World War II, she married Buddy Amis and the family moved around the country before settling in the Dallas area in 1963. Naomi loved raising her two boys, attending meetings of the Richardson Women's Garden Club, and volunteering at Richardson Hospital. Her family will remember her love of the outdoors and expecially of Texas wildflowers; her enjoyment of wild birds; her Christmas Eve dinners and her luscious pies. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 21st at 3 pm in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Houston Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in memory of her brother Charles and in hopes that a cure will be found for her great-grandson, Charlie.
