Weldon B. Dwyer, 83, of Sandwich, died Tuesday, April 23, 1996 at Sandwich Community Hospital. he was born April 18, 1913 in Ottawa, Ill., the son of Robert and Winnie Dwyer. Weldon was united in marriage to Jeanette Johnson on June 17, 1936 in Sandwich. He was a graduate of the Plano high School Class of 1931. He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad in 1975. Weldon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Plano for 72 years. he was a Bronze Key Club Member of the Fox Valley Older Adults in Sandwich and a member of the Sons of Norway. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Weldon was the husband of Jeanette Dwyer of Sandwidh, father of Philip (Doreen) Dwyer of Montrose, Colo., David (Judy) Dwyer of Moline; he is also survived by his bother Robert (Marge) Dwyer of Brownsville, Texas; grandchildren Kristine (Jim) Blessing of Elmhurst, Kimberly (Joe) Elliott of Milan, IL., Kelly Dwyer and Mark Roemer of Bettendorf, Iowa; step-grandchildren Michelle and John. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kathryn (Pat) Costo. Funeral services were held on Friday, April 26, pastor Charles B. Lyman and the Rev. David Kaul officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Sandwich. Visitation was Thursday, April 25, at Burkhart Funeral Home, Sandwich. Pallbearers were George Andoe, Ron Anthenat, Wendell Dominy, Bill Hatcher, Dave Moore and Mark Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers were Bud Young and Ed Dillow. Memorials may be given in Weldon's name to the First Baptist Church of Plano, 116 N. Hale St., Plano, IL 60545.
