"Andrew Newell Allen, 76, of 3636 Warwick Blvd., died Saturday at Menorah Medical Center. He was born in Corsicana, Texas, and had lived in the area 40 years. Mr. Allen was a painter before he retired in 1967. He was a member of Local 9 of the Painters union. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He leaves three sons, Newell J. Allen of St Louis, Andrew J. Allen of Tulsa, Okla., and Charles L. Allen of Los Angeles; two daughters, Mrs. Billie Beck of O'Fallon, Mo., and Mrs. Mary Sharver of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Aline Ecker of Los Angeles; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Mount Moriah Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, June 7, 1982
