Mrs. Shotwell
Higdon Dies
At Britt, Iowa
Mrs. Shotwell Higdon, nee Linda Salstrom, who had suffered for several months, passed away April 5, 1944 at her home in Britt, Iowa.
Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church with Rev. F. F. Robinson officiating, on Saturday afternoon. Burial followed in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Higdon located in Boone township, Hancock county, settling on a large farm two miles north of Stilson in 1896. Here they reared their family and became well known and influential people. In 1921 they retired and moved to Britt, where they built an attractive bungalow, where they spent many happy years.
Ms. Higdon was active in the work of the Methodist church and was painstaking in all her ministrations to family and friends. She was a good wife, a loving mother and a sincere friend.
Linda Salstrom was born at Paxton, Ill., August 22, 1874, daughter of Lawrence and Johanna Salstrom. She was married to Shotwell G. Higdon, also of Paxton, January 14, 1896.
Surviving her are the husband; four sons, Gerald, Newton, Iowa; Gerald, Britt, Iowa; Clarence, Paxton, Illinois, and Paul, Anderson, Indiana; a brother, Dr. Ed. Salstrom, Huntley, Illinois and eleven grandchildren, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.
