LEAH BARKER - AUGUST 4, 1919 - MAY 29, 2999

Leah Hansen Barker, 79, died at Evanston Regional Hospital on Saturday, May 29, 1999. She was born on August 4, 1919 in Garden City, Utah to Charles Augustus and Emma Vilate Hansen.

She married Fred Weston Barker on October 20, 1936 in Garden City. She was a member of the LDS Church, and served as a Primary secretary, compassionate service leader and Relief Society teacher. She was an LPN at Memorial Hospital with specialized care of nursery babies. She also worked in the office as a medical records secretary. Leah was well known for her cooking and was especially famous for her cookies.

She is survied by her sons, Weston (Catherine) Barker of Evanson and George H. (Mary Ann) Barker of Randolph; brothers Russell (Lila) Hansen of Garden City, LaVarr (LaVaun) Hansen of Odgen, Utah, LeRoy (Betty) Hansen of Ogden, and Jack (Flora) Hansen of Paris, Idaho; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Weston Barker, her parents, and five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Crandall Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 2, at 11 a.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Interment will take place in the Evanston City Cemetery.
