Mrs. Susie Smith Clough, 87 of 320 Scott Avenue, died about 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. William B. Tobin, Jr. in Cynthiana.
A native of Pendleton County, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Loomis Smith. She was the widow of James R. Clough Sr.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, being the oldest member of the Women's society of Christian Service and the Darlington Bible Class of the church.
Survivors including her daughter are six sons, Abraham, Ora, Pershing (Pete), Earl, Albert and James R. Clough, Jr., all of Paris; two brothers, Goebel Smith of Stamping Ground and Gilbert Smith of Cincinnati, OH; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ben Cain. Burial was in the Paris Cemetery.
Casket bearers were James L. Clough, James R. Clough, III, William B. Tobin III, Howard Smith, Kevin Crump and Peter F. Clough.
The Lusk Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
