William E. Cavness, 91-year-old pioneer who drove a mule train hauling gold ore from the Vulture Mine to Phoenix near the turn of the century, died in Phoenix Sunday. Funeral services were in that city Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. Cavness came to Arizona from Texas in 1888 with his parents in a covered wagon and homesteaded in Phoenix. He drove a mule which hauled the first streeetcar along the streets of that city.
