Alice Evelyn Clark was the daughter of Ewing M. Clark & Clarissa A.(Bonesteel)Clark, and born in Decatur, Macon Co., Illinois, 19 Oct 1871. She had sisters Mary Eleanor and Sarah, and a brother, Ernest Wilbur Clark who was called "Willie" when he was young.

In 1880, Alice was living in the family, as a niece, of John A.Rodgers & his wife Lucinda, in Northhampton Twp., Summit Co, Ohio.(Apparently the Rodgers had a daughter Eleanor Lucinda Rodgers PLUM, whom Alice called "sister-cousin". She also had an older half-sister, Flora Clark.

Alice attended Hiram College, Hiram, Ohio, in the academic course, the year 1887-1888. While at college, Alice had an autograph book, with messages from friends and many relatives, including one from her future husband, Arthur Graham Crawford.

Alice married Arthur, 6 Nov 1890, in Akron, Summit Co., Ohio. She and her husband lived in New Castle, Lawrence Co.,PA from 1900 for the rest of their lives. Their children were: Enid Iola, Ruth Clarissa, Clark(d.y), Mary Marie, Ernest Marion, Eleanor L. and Arthur Clark Crawford.
She liked to raise flowers, especially hollyhocks. Alice and Arthur celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in Nov. 1940.

Alice had a heart attack on Thursday prior to her death on Sunday, 31 Oct 1948, at 12:20 AM. She was survived by her husband Arthur G. CRAWFORD, her children Arthur C. and Mrs. Enid McMILLIN of New Castle, Ernest M. of Niles, Ohio and Ruth of Cleveland, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Eleanor CRAWFORD preceded her in death. Alice was buried beside her husband in Oak Park Cemetery,New Castle, PA., Section 3, Lot 66, grave 3. (Her sister Mary E. Clark was buried in the same grave.)
