Mrs. Alden was born in Johnson City, Tenn., the daughter of Carl and Clara Hart Doss. She was a graduate of Marion Senior High School and Kings College in Charlotte, N.C. She had been a resident of Charlotte, N.C., since 1969.
She was an active member of the Church at Charlotte and a volunteer in many community activities.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Alden; two daughters, Abbey and Emily Alden; her mother and stepfather, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Blain of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Linda Chrosniak of Oakton, and Grace Cappa of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Henry Doss of Charlotte, N.C.; eight nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 14, at 1 p.m. at the Church at Charlotte with the Rev. James G. Kallam Jr. officiating. Interment was in Forest Lawn East Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the Church at Charlotte Youth Scholarship Fund, 2500 Carmel Road, Charlotte, N.C. 28226.
