Specialist Aquaneldo Maurice Johnson was born October 24, 1964, in Gulfport, Mississippi, to Jackson and Jean Johnson. Maurice as he was affectionately called accepted Christ at an early age. Maurice united with First Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was actively involved until he joined the United States Army.
Maurice graduated from Gulfport High School in 1983. He then attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He later joined the United States Army and served in the Gulf War. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1999 because of health reasons. After his discharge from the military, Maurice resumed his passion for music and wrote many songs. He was a member of the A&M Connection Band where he sang and played the keyboard for many years.
Maurice was preceded in death by his father, Jackson Daniel Johnson; his paternal grandparents Joe and Agnes Johnson; his maternal grandfather, Levern Micheal; his maternal grandparents, RJ. and Catherine Micheal Tillis; his uncle and aunt, McNeil and Doris Thomas and his uncle, Joe Lewis Johnson.
Maurice will be greatly missed by his mother, his wife, two daughters, three sisters, his very special cousin, his god-brother, two grandchildren, his two nieces and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
