During the Korean War Corp Farley served with Company F, 2nd Battation, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Farley was Killed in Action while fighting Chinese Communist Forces at the Toktong Pass near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea. Fox Company's defense of the Toktong Pass against thousands of Chinese forces in temperatures that reached down to 25 degrees below zero has become known as the "Last Stand of Fox Company." Fox Company was able to keep the pass opened for forces retreating from the area of the Chosin Reservoir. Farley's remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing.
