Born near Dunkirk, in 1863 he early became interested in construction of stone surfaced roads and served as president of The Ohio State assn of Stone Producers. He organized and was president of the Bluffton-Lewisburg Stone Co. with offices for many years in the Faurot bldg.
When this company was merged into the National Lime and Stone Co. he was elected president of this company with quarries scattered through western Ohio. Patterson was active in Ohio politics and in 1932 was a member of the electoral college of Ohio. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ of Findlay.
Last services will be held at the Huffer funeral home at 2:30pm Monday. Rev. S M Davidian, pastor of the Lima Central Church of Christ, will officiate. Pall bearers will be busniess associates in the National Lime and Stone Co.
He is survived by two daughter, Mrs Rose Pepple and Mrs J C Bodkin of Lima: their children and two other grandchildren, Norma and Charlene Kerry, daughters of his deceased youngest daughter Sly and Charles Kerrey of Fostoria; four brothers L. E. Patterson of Findlay, Rev J H Patterson of Bucyrus, Earl and Mark Patterson of Dunkirk, and a sister Nettie Patterson of Norwalk.
