T.B. VEAL

T.B. Veal, aged 76, a Confederate Veteran, died at the home of his son, B.F. Veal, at Norman, Okla., March 4, after a few days illness of pneumonia. His body was brought back to Gillham, where it was laid to rest beside his wife who passed away a number of years ago.

Mrs. Chas. Shane of De Queen and B.F. Veal of Gillham went to Norman to accompany the body to Gillham for interment.

Mr. Veal had made his home in De Queen with his daughters, Mrs. Shane and Mrs. J.H. White the past year and left on February 12 for a visit with his sons at Norman.

Surviving Mr. Veal are three daughters, Mrs. Charles Shane and Mrs. J.H. White of De Queen; Mrs. T.R. Vaughn, Ada, Okla.; four sons, C.G., T.C. and J.M. Veal, Norman, Okla.; and B.F. Veal of Gillham.

Among those who attended the funeral of T.B. Veal last Wednesday were A.S. Brown and daughters, Misses Girdie, Jennie and Lona, and G.W. Powell and sons, Henry, Virgil and Oscar. Mr. Veal was a former resident of this place, having sold his farm about nine and a half years ago and moved to Oklahoma. He departed this world Sunday morning, March 4, at Norman, Okla. The remains arrived on No. 3 Wednesday afternoon and were laid to rest in the Johnsonville cemetery at Gillham. The bereaved ones have our sympathy.
