Kenneth H. Barton, 71, of Godfrey, died at 4:35 a.m. Sunday at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis after a lengthy illness.
He retired on April 1.1978 as a machinist at Olin Corp. where he worked for 30 years.
Born in Godfrey, son of the late Loren H. and Mae'(Maupin) Barton, he was a veteran of the Navy during World War II.
His only survivors include nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Gent Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m Wednesday with the Rev. Kenneth Edelman officiating.
Burial will be in Upper Alton Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the Cottage Hills Veterans of Foreign Wars, of which he was a member.
