She left her native land in the month of June 1871, two years later than her husband and located in Whitehall, Mich., where they made their home until the fall of 1879 when they came to Balsora, Nebr., and settled on a homestead and were among the first settlers having bravely withstood the hardships and trials of pioneer life.

She was baptized in August 1885 and united with the Baptist church of Balsora of which she was a loyal member until the summons came to her to join the triumphant congregation on the other side of the river. Her health was very poor for years and she was longing for the call to come, and went to sleep as a tired child having reached the age of 81 years and 6 days.

She leaves to mourn her two sons and three daughters, Charles and David of Arcadia, Mrs. Henning Claussen of Darr, Nebr., Mrs. J.A. Roos and Amanda Carlson of Arcadia.
