Obituary: Thursday, Sept. 20, 1956: "Funeral Services Held Sunday for Infant Son -- Last rites were conducted Sunday at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel for Dennis Nelson Davis, infant son of Paul Kenneth and Alice May Prine Davis of Springfield, who died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, after an illness of two days. The baby, 4 months and 27 days old, died in Ava. He was born April 27, 1956.
The Rev. Tom Johnson of Ava officiated at the services, and burial was in the Fannon cemetery.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Scharlett Elein Davis of the home; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Davis of Squires, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Prine of Squires."
