Sister Cecilia Marie Shannon OSB, 84, died at 6:12 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, in Holy Angels Convent infirmary.

She was born in Kalispell, Mont., on Feb. 27, 1926, to Francis and Rosemary Nickerson Shannon.

She is survived by one sister and one brother, plus a few nieces and nephews.

After high school Sister Cecilia Marie attended 15 months of Infants' Care Training and worked in a newborn nursery of a hospital for 18 months. Since that time she did secretarial work both in Illinois and in Texas for 14 years.

She entered Holy Angels Convent in 1977 from the Diocese of Fort Worth, Texas, and made her profession of vows on July 11, 1979, and final vows on Aug. 6, 1983. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee on July 11, 2004.

She spent many years in taking parish census and family visitation and teaching religion in Fort Worth; West Memphis; Muenster, Texas; Cherokee Village; Stuttgart; and at Blessed Sacrament in Jonesboro. She was activities director at Benedictine Manor in Hot Springs for a couple of years. For two years she worked in the infirmary at Holy Angels Convent and then retired in 2003.

Rosary was held in Holy Angels Convent Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was in Holy Angels Chapel with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Pallbearers were; the Knights of Columbus of Blessed Sacrament Parish.
