Elmer "Chris" Christian passed away peacefully on September 6, 2009 at University Hospital. He was born in Muscoda, WI on August 29, 1932, the son of Clarence and Margret (Easland) Christian. He is survived by his wife of 31 years LaDeane (Loomis) Christian; sons, Rick Christian, Martin (Arlene) Christian and Jeff (Pam) Christian; daughters, Lisa Dorow and Barbie Christian; stepchildren, Bonny Parsons Conway (late Thomas), Scarlett (Robert) Parker, Timothy Bruer, Jane (James) Charmelo and Dennis (Mary Gruhn) Parsons; brothers, Jim (Sandy) Christian and Clarence (Carol) Christian. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; son, Clarence; sisters, Bernice Fletcher and Viola Phillips; brother, Martin Christian; and stepsons, Daniel Bruer and David Parsons. Elmer was loved by a number of great-grandchildren, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed the Packers and Badgers, playing bingo, fishing, country music and his garden. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of University Hospital and Meriter Hospital, as well as Kathleen Preston and Jennifer Goodinson of City View Nursing Home for their compassion and care of "Chris". A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Lone Rock cemetery, US Hwy 14. A private time for family will begin at 1:30 p.m.
