Charlie Howard Eanes, age 95 of Vinton, passed away Sunday at the Veterans Medical Center in Salem. He was a retired engineer for American Viscose, and served in World War I with the U. S. Army. He was predeceased by his wife, Mae Webber Eanes. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy E. McCraw, at home; Mrs. Thomas (Audrey) Hard, Vinton; two grandsons, W. H. (Bill) McCraw and Thomas F. Hard, Jr.; one granddaughter, one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, April 22, 1992, from the Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Holly O. Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery with military honors by Roanoke V.F.W. Post No. 1264. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Lotz Vinton Chapel.
