Mrs. Merle Webber Bruffy, 58, of Route 3, Highland Springs, Rustburg, died Sunday at 7:25 a.m. in Lynchburg General Hospital after a long illness. Her husband is William H. Bruffy. Born in Pamplin, she was a daughter of Mrs. Thelma Bainbridge Webber of Lynchburg and the late Herman J. Webber and a member of Mead Memorial Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Thomas E. Bruffy of Lynchburg; four daughters, Mrs. Fred E. (Nancy) Austin, Mrs. Robert A. (Becky) Carson and Mrs. Mary B. Whitten, all of Lynchburg and Mrs. Glenn L. (Carole) Smith of Midlothian; four brothers, Carlton H. and Morris T. Webber both of Lynchburg, Chesley H. Webber of Forest and Jesse R. Webber of Chesapeake; a sister, Mrs. Mary W. Evans of Lynchburg, twelve grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at other times at the residence. The family request that those wishing to make memorials please consider the Campbell County Rescue Squard.
