Modean Hicks was born May 28, 1926 and departed this life Tuesday, June30, 2015 reaching the age of 89 years. She was the daughter of the late George Leslie and Laura (Miller) Moran.
She married Wendell Hicks and to this union three children were born.
She is survived by: two daughters, Sandra Phillips of Louisville, KY and Darlene Adams of Monticello, KY; three grandchildren, Chris Adams, Dawn Brown, Stacey Phillips; and 3 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, George and Laura Moran and her husband, Wendell Hicks, she was preceded in death by: one son, Leslie Lee Hicks; one grandchild; six brothers, Carson, Arlie, Robert, William, Arnold, and Ethan Moran; and five sisters, Mamie Toler, Lois, Opal, and Lora Moran, and Ona Skaggs.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, 2015 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 3, 2015 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
