Ward Spivey, 69, of 814 Texas Street, died following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Spivey owned a shoe repair shop for many years in Graham. His services will be held at the Salem Crestview Methodist Church with Rev. Verne Fuqua, pastor, officiating.

Mr. Spivey moved to Graham in 1906 from Finis, Texas.

He married Marie Wigington on 23 November 1923 at Wichita Falls, Texas.

He was a member of the Salem Methodist Church, Knights of Pythias Lodge, American Legion, and served with the armed forces in World War I.

Mr. Spivey was born at Finis, Jack County, Texas.

Survived by his wife; one son - Billy Spivey; one daughter - Mrs. Mary Katherine Stephens; two grandchildren; three brothers - Gus, Ed and Bill Spivey; one sister - Mrs. Hugh Huckabee.
