Mettie J. Eveler, of York, entered into rest on the morning of March 20, 2010. She was the wife of the late Samuel F. Eveler, Sr., and Roger Herman Sr.

Mettie was born in York County, on March 21, 1933, the daughter of the late Clayton and Minnie (Frey) Smith.

She was a homemaker and loved making crafts, baby dolls and flower arrangements. Mettie also enjoyed going to yard sales, fishing, she loved her pets but most of all she enjoyed and loved her grandchildren.

Mettie is survived by her children, Nanci Blevins and husband, Allen, Roger Herman Jr. and wife, Jean, Alana Schnetzka, Linda Herman and husband, Tony, Samuel Eveler, Jr. and wife, Kathy, and twin sons, Larry Eveler and wife Joan, and Barry Eveler and wife, Tamara; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clayton and John Smith; two stepbrothers; five stepsisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Interment was in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
