Janice Bemont, 17 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Bemont of Laurel Heights, died Friday afternoon a few hours after drinking coal
oil while playing at the home of her grandmother who lives in the same neighborhood. She was carried to a local clinic where all efforts to save her life failed.
Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Assembly of God Church, Laurel Heights, with Rev. C. M. Robinson officiating. Interment was in the Winnfield cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
The little girl is survived by her parents: a twin sister, Janet; a brother, George Dennis of Laurel Heights; a grandmother, Mrs. George
Bemont, Sr., of Laurel Heights; and a grandfather, Orb Davis of Pascagoula.
