Colonel Smoloff Pallas Love

b 10 May 1826 Lincoln Co., KY was reared in Garrard Co., KY

m 15 Jul 1850 by Rev. John N. Sharp

Miss Jane McConnell dau of John Henry McConnell

Aug 1861 Commissioned Lieutenant-Colonel in the 11th KY Regiemnt of the Federal Army under Colonel P. B. Hawkins
May 1863 made Colonel of that Regiment

In the engagements at Shiloh, Perryville, and in all the skrimishes in pursuit of Bragg's army when it retreated from KY.

Also participated in the siege of Knoxville, in the campaign under General Burnside in East TN, and in all the battles in which Sherman's army was engaged on the march from Ringgold to Altanta. Discharged at Bowling Green 16 Dec 1864.
