Mattie Irene Short Batman, 87, of Luray, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray.
Mrs. Batman was born May 2, 1917 in Page County and was the daughter of the late Lewis Milton and Bertie Campbell Short.
On Aug. 5, 1933, she married Granville O. Batman, who preceded her in death July 29, 1969.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Batman of Luray and R. Wayne 'Sonny' Batman of Waxahacie, Texas;
seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Burial at Rest Haven Cemetery - Shenandoah, Va.
