She was born in Batesville, AR as the first child of Marie Cooper Gray and Justin Gilbert Gray. They were married in Albuquerque on July 25th, 1940. Mrs. Church was a homemaker and enjoyed domestic hobbies such as needle point and knitting as well as sewing. She was an avid genealogist and could often be found scouring cemeteries for the names of distant relatives long gone by. Neill Church and her brother, Justin Gilbert Gray, Jr. She is survived by her brother Theodore Gilbert Gray; her children, Chipley Harris and her husband David, William N. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday March 5th at Grace Episcopal Church, 4900 Concord Pike, Wilmington, where friends are invited to call after 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Following the interment there will be a luncheon at the church meeting hall.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions in Dorothy's memory to the Grace Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
